Perla's Pastry Boutique

Perla's Pastry Boutique, a pastry branch from Pasticceria Da Valentino which focuses on serving authentic Italian cuisine the Italian way. I believe they recently opened this pastry outlet at the basement of Takashimaya last year. There wasn't any seats available at this take-away outlet, but my wife and I were glued to its quite decadent looking pastries on display.

 <Strawberry Tart>

Close to perfection. The strawberries were fresh, sweet and sour. The custard's consistency was just nice and velvety. The tart itself was alright, but it wasn't the kind of buttery crust that one would die-for.

<Chocolate Tart>

The tart was too crumbly in my opinion as the entire thing collapsed while digging in.. I could have sworn this tart is better off eaten with a spoon. And the chocolate tasted artificial as well. I wouldn't recommend this tart.

Yomenya Goemon

<Lobster Bisque Pasta>

You don't quite get the lobster taste in this and the amount of lobster meat is also disappointingly little. However, I guess if you think of it as just a pasta, it does pass the mark.

 <Meat Sauce Spaghetti with Mozzarella and Egg Plant>

This pasta was much better than the Lobster Bisque Pasta in many ways. The flavours were more robust and ingredients generous.

 <Mentaiko with Shrimp and Japanese Herb Pasta>

The tasts of Mentaiko isn't exactly my cup of tea. But from what my wife says, the dish is actually very fresh and tasty. I do admit the prawns were fresh and succulent though.

 <Cheese Cake with Strawberry Ice cream >

Just a regular dessert that tasted okay. It had a good balance between sweet and sourness though.

<Chocolate Lava Cake>

Another okay dessert at best. I guess this place isn't really famed for their desserts to begin with anyway. Haha ^^

BONCHON CHICKEN

<Kimchi Tofu Soup>

Nothing good nor bad. A simple yet tasty soup when you crave for something sour and spicy at the same time.

<Okonomiyaki>

Topped with squid and prawns, this dish was not too bad. They were really generous with the bonito flakes though.

 <Chicken Wings with Hot Sauce>

Simply amazing! The wings are fried to perfection. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. Smothered with their special hot sauce, these wings are to die for. You have a choice of drumstick if you dislike wings or soy sauce for those who can't take spiciness.
