Misc Goodies!

Well, it's has been a long time since I last posted anything. Decided to take a break as my actual work was draining a lot out of me and I kinda lost interest for any other things for some time. But that didn't stop me from trying to enjoy my food in bid to relax. So here I am, posting up some miscellaneous places which I've been to since last Dec 2013. Enjoy! ^^

 <Sushi from Itacho Sushi>

3rd visit and awesome as always. All the sushi were fresh and true to their natural taste. Try it to know it!

 <Wings from Wings Stop>

They were alright, but nothing compared to 4 Fingers' wings. But Some of the wings were inconsistent in sizes and some were a tad over fried.

 <Snaffles Cheesecake from Japan>

They were light and fluffy. Great for a small snack. I wouldn't say they are great cheesecakes, but they were decent enough for me. I did find the original flavoured one a bit too sweet as it covered any taste of cheese.

 <The Waffles>

So called the best waffles from Thailand. Saw many people posting about it and I just had to try it. But one bite into it, I was totally disappointed. It was cold, tough and the toppings were pretentious. Nothing spectacular, I wouldn't buy it again.

<Crodos from Gastronomia Da Paolo>

Known by a few different names. Crodos comes from the inspiration of combining both the methods of making a croissant and donuts. These from Gastronomia had good flavours and texture to them. Really good! Oh yes, do make sure to go early and buy them. Because they are usually sold out after lunch time. 

Cookies for Sid

A newly opened shop that sells only cookies along Citylink Mall. They have a wide variety of flavours and I quite like the texture of their cookies. They are slightly crisp on the outside but yet chewy on the inside. Kinda like the best of both worlds, ain't it? ^^

Going clockwise from the left we have, Brown Sugar; Mocha Espresso and Earl Grey Almonds. My favourite would be the Earl Grey, followed by Mocha and then Brown Sugar. You could hardly taste the brown sugar in the cookie and that made it kinda like a typical sweet cookie. The mocha cookie had a very good and strong balance of both mocha and espresso. The earl grey cookie was really good. You could taste a light hint of early grey, it had finely chopped earl grey tea leaves mixed in and those almond provided an additional dimension to the overall experience.

Hot Star (Super Large Fried Chicken)

<Original Large Fried Chicken>

Hot Star! Hailing from Taiwan with its signature Large Fried Chicken Cutlets was a hit with Singaporeans when it first landed in J-Cube shopping mall in Jurong I think. Now finally, it has opened its shores to people living in Tampines. Yes! Tampines One shopping mall to be exact. But please pardon the quality of this picture. It was taken from home and I just wanted to show how big the cutlet really was. It was HUGE! My plate could barely fit the whole thing. I was desperate to get my first try on this with all the hype surrounding it. I guess either I was wrong or that my expectations were too high. Apart from the fact that the chicken was cooked nicely and still juicy, it was all powder. Beyond all the powder and MSG, the chicken really tasted just tasteless. Not to mention that mine had tons of bones at one end of it which honestly will make eating on the go, difficult. But, I guess the the best thing about this is that it can really fill you up.

Rock & Ash

<Fries with Texas BBQ sauce>

While taking a break from walking too much, I decided to drop by Rock & Ash for a little snack to replenish myself. They have fries that comes along with a sauce of your choice. I chose Texas BBQ sauce as I wanted something tangy to tease my taste buds. Of course, Rock & Ash also sells many other food items including a signature Pork Knuckles which doesn't look that appetizing from the menu. Back to the fries. They are freshly fried upon order, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Decent I would say. However, I found the Texas BBQ sauce a total let down. It was too sweet for my liking. Didn't have enough acidity or kick in it.
